GAO Includes Food Safety on its Urgent List

Following the each presidential election, the GAO prepares transition information to assist the incoming administration. Today GAO announced the creation of its transition website and issued its priority listing of the 13 most urgent issues to be addressed by President-elect Obama. Of particular interest to agriculture, "[R]evamping oversight of food safety" is included in this list of urgent priorities.
Also noteworthy are its observations for the USDA, found in its Issues Agency by Agency analysis.
